In 1990 Tracy Edwards and her crew sailed "Maiden" across the finish line of the 1989/90 Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race and into the history books as the first all-female crew to circumnavigate the globe. Tracy was the first woman to receive the Yachtsman of the Year Trophy. Maiden was sold and Tracy went on to break numerous world records in various sailing events. In 2014 Maiden was discovered, rotting in a marina in the Seychelles and Tracy set about raising the funds to recuse her. Having sailed Maiden to St Katharine Docks 28years ago after the WRWYR, Tracy will be talking about Maiden then and now, her restoration and what the next exciting chapter of her life holds.

In September this year Tracy will bring the newly restored "Maiden" back to St Katharine Docks to re-launch her and FOSKD members will be invited to a reception to meet the crew. The Yacht will then start on a circumnavigation of the globe which members of the public can pay to take part in. The Maiden Foundation is committed to working with a number of Charities to further the education of girls around the world. www.themaidenfactor.org
